Ross Dreveny is a self taught artist who works in egg tempera on paper and acrylic on gesso board and canvas. His technique and temperament bring a quiet, zen-like quality to his work. “I find inspiration for a painting in many ways ... a song, a glimpse, a colour, a word. These things conjure up an image which I then try to put into paint. It is very much like painting a dream. Occasionally, I succeed”. Ross was born in rural Saskatchewan. He moved to Toronto when he was 10 years old and presently resides in Cobourg, Ontario. Ross’ work can be found in many exhibitions, galleries and in private collections across Canada, the US and Europe. |
